Rebranding Competition | The Police Children's Charity

In 2022 we held a competition to win a 2 year lease of an electric VW E-Up.

The winning name was picked out of a bucket and in February 2023, Liam Kelly The Police Children’s Charity Chair, handed over the keys for an Electric VW E-Up to our Competition Winner Bryn Meehan.

Bryn was joined by his family, including 6 week old Noah. He

explained how the car had come at the perfect time for the family and will be enjoyed greatly.

Bryn has been in the Police 13 years and is currently a Detective Constable based in North Ayrshire.

Married with two children, Jack (14), Evie (3) and their baby Noah born in January.

Outside the Police he likes to play in a band and teach guitar.

We caught up with Bryn recently and he explained how the car has helped family life at such a crucial time as a family.

“Car is going great!!! We have been using it as much as possible with a family of 5! It has made a huge difference to our monthly outgoings! I reckon we’re probably saving at least £200 of fuel per month plus what we’re saving from Clare selling her car.

It took about a week or so to get used to the car, knowing how far I can get etc.

We had a wee adventure through to Edinburgh for my niece’s birthday. I went with Evie (3) and Noah (2 months). Drove through, found a charger that only cost me £9 to charge full which got us back. That journey would have cost around £30 to £40 on my diesel car and goodness knows how much by public transport.

Evie loves the car as she thinks it’s a go cart!”
